Sustainable wealth and employment for African communities

How you can help us

You may wonder why you should support a Rural Enterprise Campus in South Africa when there are an abundance of local and national organizations needing support.

Eden Campus is unique in that we are ultimately striving to become self-sufficient. We are the African office of the UK based organisation Teach a Man to Fish and therefore stand by the credo 'Education that pays for itself.' Sponsorship is only a means toward the end - becoming self-sufficient. We intend doing this by developing and running businesses on the Campus, by investing in community businesses in and around Karatara, by partnering with private and public enterprises, by consulting with those who wish to replicate the mode land by working closely with the Services SETA to become a major service provider and therefore qualifying for government grants.

However in order to reach the point where our education pays for itself we need sponsorship or, as we like to call it, we need investments into our future and coincidentally South Africa’s future.

We actively recruitpotentially leading students from 38 disadvantaged and rural communities in the region. After completing their studies, Eden Campus graduates have one of three options, each one with assistance from Eden Campus:
- Return to their rural communities and help to start community enterprise entrepreneurial businesses
- Further their studies at a university such as Nelson Mandela Metropolitan University
- Become employed in a local business

Sponsorship
It costs R25,000 to sponsor a student for a year, payable monthly or annually. This amount covers the cost of tuition, food and accommodation.

Mentorship
This involves building a relationship or formally assisting a student throughout the year.

Donations for Campus renovations

There is an enormous amount of work to be done on the building, most of which is being done by the students themselves after lessons and between running businesses. Local residents share the enthusiasm and are helping in a myriad of ways. But we need more. If your company has equipment, paint or building materials or wishes to sponsor the renovation of a room please please email info@edencampus.co.za or call 044 356 2789.

There is an enormous amount of work to be done on the building. We have various projects that currently require funding, please have a look and see where you might be able to help:

Corporate donors

By donating funds, time, energy or assistance to Eden Campus, you are helping people to help themselves. Young, deserving leaders are being given the chance to make a difference by transforming their own lives and the lives of their communities. With a donation to Eden Campus, you invest not only in the dreams and hopes of young people in South Africa but also in the future of generations to come. For further information and to arrange a presentation to your company please email info@edencampus.co.za.

Smaller but important

We are always looking for individuals that want to get involved and actively participate. Everyone who visits the Campus is inspired by the drive and commitment of the staff and students to make the dream of Eden Campus a reality. We need guest lecturers, old business suits, books, computers, printers, furniture, tools and the expertise of horticulturists, architects and other professionals.
